High Purity Silica

Research for an alternative source of silica has been carried out, due to high demand of solar grade high purity silica and limited supply of natural silica stone. Concerning this, silica can be refined as high purity silica by utilizing DE, made up of diatom. Contrary to crystalline silica of silica stone, DE, containing amorphous silica as its main ingredient, is easily dissolved in alkaline aqueous solution and thus its purity is heightened without difficulty. In particular, the relevant research shows that high purity silica(SiO2 99.99%) for a new material can be obtained just through the first refinement.
